Martis Camp Club’s Family Barn is the hub of family fun on property, and this includes the wonderful Soda Fountain family dining restaurant. The dining team is looking for a seasonal Food Runner who is available holidays and weekends during the winter season to extend hospitality to our members and their families. The food is focused on family favorites made with top tier ingredients.

The ideal fit for this position is someone with experience in serving who approaches interactions in a service minded way and works well in a team. Our aim is to provide members and their families amazing service while creating a warm and friendly environment in which to relax. The Food Runner position is open in the Soda Fountain family dining restaurant and preference will be given to candidates with previous experience. This position is a Seasonal position for the winter season. The Food Runner is responsible for providing Club Members and guests with the finest service in the dining room while creating a warm and friendly environment.


Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Attending members and guests with impeccable dining service, food knowledge, and thoughtfulness
  • Delivering orders from the kitchen to member’s tables quickly and accurately
  • Protect members by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
  • Prepare room for dining and setting decorations
  • Stay updated on current specialties and menu changes
  • Transmit orders to bar and kitchen accurately and in a timely manner, identifying any special dietary needs and special requests and acting as point of contact between kitchen and floor
  • Keep culinary team informed by monitoring timing and progression of the meals
  • Be familiar with Fine Dining sequence of service and deliver orders accordingly
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; maintaining water and beverage service; being alert to member spills or other special needs
  • Obtain revenues by charging the appropriate member account promptly in POS system
  • Perform basic restaurant side-work and additional cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
  • Assist with special events as needed
  • Promptly address service issues and refer members to management when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dining Manager, F&B Director, Bar Manager


Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours at a time with one 30-minute lunch break and two ten-minute breaks
  • Must be able to safely lift, carry, or transport food and drinks from kitchen to table
  • Must be able to grip silverware, dishware, and drinkware safely
  • Must be able to safely kneel, bend, twist
  • Must be able to safely lift/carry up to 20 pounds max at one time


Other requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen (excludes marijuana results for 21 and over)
  • Must have a minimum of one of year experience in a Fine Dining environment
  • Must have current ServSafe certification
  • Must be professional at all times in grooming and communication
  • Must engage all (members, guests, fellow Ambassadors) in a polite and friendly manner
  • Valid work permit (if under age 18)
