The League to Save Lake Tahoe is searching for an exceptionally organized, detail-oriented “big picture thinker and doer” to join our fun and growing team of environmental experts and enthusiasts. As the backbone of our Operations program, the Executive Operations Coordinator will lead and coordinate many aspects of the entire organization’s day-to-day needs, including responsibilities ranging from daily mail logging to executive-level assistance for the Chief Operating Officer. This position will also play a key role in helping the League transition into a high-functioning, hybrid, nonprofit organization which attracts the best talent. The role is instrumental in leading and advancing key employee programs and is therefore vital to the League’s success. This selected applicant will contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels, and partner with cross-functional teams to design and deliver solutions that maximize the League’s efficiency and our valued staff’s work/life balance.

The position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Because of the nature of this position, candidates will need to be able to work from our South Lake Tahoe office (occasional hybrid work options will be available).

What the position involves: 
  • Supporting the Chief Operating Officer with employee management, human resources, budget tracking and reporting, and other high-level tasks.
  • Help develop then manage all of the day-to-day operational systems for the League, including implementing digital best practices, tools to streamline processes, and interpreting and administering policies.
  • Oversee all project management aspects of the Operations team.
  • In conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer, develop and implement programs to shape culture and the employee experience.
  • Develop and implement an engaging and active recruiting program that attracts the most competitive talent to the League.
  • In conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer, explore and implement learning programs to expand individual and team competencies.
  • Assist the Chief Operating Officer and executive leadership team with executing on the League’s strategic goals.
  • Analyze and identify issues within teams and support them with resources and best practices.
  • Manage content in network file locations to ensure up-to-date and accurate information.
  • Draft and maintain administrative procedures and policies. Communicate and apply these policies as needed.
  • Update operational procedures as needed, or as requested by supervisor.

Your professional capabilities include:
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, Word, etc.), Zoom, and project management software. (This is the MOST important part of this job, so only apply if you have a deep understanding of these programs/systems.)
  • We do not require a college education but do expect that your professional experience will reflect this position’s responsibilities.
  • 7+ years professional experience.
  • Strong analytical and excellent organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Efficient and effective at managing and completing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Maintains a high degree of accuracy in data and confidentiality.
  • Must be detail- and solutions-oriented.
League-specific requirements: 
  • Employees are required to have a vehicle that is in good working order, proof of valid driving license, non-expired vehicle registration, and effective insurance coverage. Travel around the Tahoe Basin, Bay Area, Reno, and Sacramento may be required.
  • The position requires some physical activity, such as bending, stooping, carrying, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
