Town of Truckee Equipment Mechanic I/II (I: $31.79-/hr – $42.91/hr), (II: $35.04/hr – $47.31/hr)

The Town of Truckee is seeking a highly motivated person to perform skilled mechanical repair, preventive maintenance work, overhauls on heavy and light vehicle/equipment and perform fabrication and welding on fleet vehicles used in street maintenance and snow removal operations.  Knowledge of the operating characteristics of a variety of vehicles and equipment used by Town departments is a must.  Applicant must be able to perform responsible and difficult mechanical repair work involving the use of independent judgment and personal initiative.  The ideal candidate will have experience in hydraulic systems related to snow removal equipment, fabrication of special equipment and heavy engine overhaul.  Applicants must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays under adverse conditions.  Requirements include four years experience in light and heavy vehicle/equipment repair.  Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid Class “B” license is required, but a Class “A” license is preferred.
