Job Description

The Apparel and Accessories Sales Specialist is responsible for all aspects of sales, merchandising, customer service, inventory management and buying recommendations in our flagship store, Tahoe Mountain Sports. This team member will have a deep understanding of lifestyle apparel, swimwear, and technical ski apparel, and can understand, explain and recommend how these pieces function for the customer. This position will also be responsible for selling footwear and accessories for the wide range of activities the store supports.

Tahoe Mountain Sports is Truckee & Lake Tahoe’s premier outdoor gear and clothing shop for human-powered adventures from the trail to the skintrack. We are your go-to shop for backcountry skiing, trail running, hiking, backpacking, climbing, and cross-country skiing. We have footwear and apparel for year round outdoor activity enjoyment. We have recently opened a second location in downtown Truckee which has a highly curated selection of casual athletic and lifestyle apparel and footwear.

Responsibilities

• Work the sales floor, assist customers with apparel, accessories, and footwear
• Assist the Merchandising Manager with both daily and seasonal merchandising of the store 
• Assist and train other staff with expanding their apparel and fabric knowledge 
• Support in-store sales through creating content for web channels, including blog posts and social media content (optional)
• Utilize google drive for file management and all communications

This position reports to the Tahoe Mountain Sports store manager.

Schedule & Compensation

• $20 – $30 per hour, depending on experience
• Full time (40 hours/week with at least 1 weekend day)
