Job Summary:  The Kids Camp Counselor facilitates daily Youth Summer Camp activities, implements programming and ensures guest satisfaction and compliance with rules and procedures. Assists Youth Supervisor in developing programming, safety rules and policies. Assures TMC Standards of Excellence are met in all areas of the operation through organization and continuous walk-throughs. Performs general facility upkeep duties as needed. Reports to Kids Club Manager.

Education/Experience: Must be 16 years of age or older. Previous experience experience working with children, youth programming, youth activity camp facilitation or similar is preferred. Must provide valid high school approved work permit at time of onboarding.

Language/Communication: Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).

Certificates/Licenses/Safety Training:  AED, CPR, and First Aid Certification; Criminal background check is required. Bloodborne Pathogen safety training.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Concentration and focus on weekly on-site Youth Summer Camps, with the age groups of 4-6 year olds and 7-11 year olds, and off-site Day Camps, with the age group of 12-15 year olds.
  • Will participate directly in other Member Engagement programs to represent the Youth component and activity.
  • Maintains a safe environment for children attending daily Youth Summer Camps.
  • Maintains an attractive, orderly appearance in the facility.
  • Organizes and conducts fun, entertaining, and educational activities for the children.
  • Addresses concerns and kindly interprets policies and rules for parents.
  • Ensures that policies and rules of the facility are enforced by supervision of the children and fellow staff members.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and prepares requisitions for supplies and equipment for Youth Summer camps.
  • Ensures receipt of payment and proper paperwork is complete before daily camp drop-off’s.
  • Evaluates the integrity and organization of program equipment and informs Supervisor of any wear or loss.
  • Properly reports accidents and injuries in a timely manner. Will report any injury to the parents of the participant.
  • Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Attends staff meetings.
  • Other duties, as needed

Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club’s operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks, not specifically addressed above.
