This is a seasonal administrative support position. The schedule is Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00. The job starts in January and goes through the tax filing deadline in April. Overtime may be available at one and a half times the hourly rate.

The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be organized, detail oriented, and able to handle shifting priorities in a busy atmosphere. Client confidentiality is a must. A strong command of Microsoft Office and an aptitude for learning new software programs is preferable. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting clients (significant client contact)
  • Answering phones, directing calls or personally assisting clients with their requests
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Running errands – weekly grocery shopping for the office/post office on occasion
  • Preparing Priority Mail, Certified Mail and Fed Ex shipments
  • Organizing, scanning, and electronically filing confidential documents
  • Entering tracking statuses in tax software
  • Uploading/downloading client documents from client portals
  • Assembling tax returns
  • Assisting clients in understanding tax return instructions, payment obligations, and signature requirements
  • Taking client payments via check, cash, or credit card
  • Managing inventory and ordering of supplies
  • Helping accountants with other projects as needed (such as bank recs and 1099 preparation)

Must be able to stand, sit, and ascend/descend stairs, bend, reach and lift up to 20 pounds. Must have reliable transportation and clean driving record. Must be able to read, write, and understand English. This position is not eligible for vacation or sick time accruals. Sitkoff O’Neil is an at will employer and does not offer an employment contract.
