Position Statement

As a Culinary Operations Manager, you are the driving force of excellence in Coffeebar’s culinary program, across all of our locations. You are a cultural ambassador for our Core values, including passion for inspired and delicious food, and exceptional hospitality to our guests, internal team, and partnerships. You are a trustworthy source of knowledge, analysis, and problem-solving. You are also a skillful teacher, eager to give and receive feedback, foster learning, challenge, and delegate.  You are a source of practical support in our culinary category across all-store locations and commissaries, working the floor with teams to ensure flawless execution and excellent service. This role reports directly to the Director of Retail Stores, while partnering with the Bakery Operations Manager.

  • Financial Acumen & Results: Conduct root-cause analysis, develop training & systems solutions, and by doing so, drive revenue and cost-savings.
  • Systems & Process: Implement best-in-class culinary tools, resources, systems, and process to guarantee quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction, while avoiding costly mistakes and bad habits. 
  • Store Training & Support: Execute with precision and coach our standards to improve quality, consistency, and ultimately inspire the culinary team and program.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • This role covers oversight to all-markets. Consistent travel to each store is expected, including stores in Tahoe (Truckee/Squaw Valley), Reno (Nevada), and the Bay Area (Menlo Park + Redwood City). 
  • Assist in the maintenance and care of company delivery vehicles, and ensures compliance to our Coffeebar Driver Policy.
  • Whistle while you work!


  • 2 years leadership experience managing culinary programs/kitchens, including training and coaching teams. Commissary/high-volume production experience preferred.
  • Experience conducting inventory, placing product orders, menu development, & building vendor relationships.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Creating spreadsheets, & Google Drive.
  • Excellent math skills and ability to adjust yields and create weekly and daily production lists. 
  • Experience analyzing Profit & Loss statements and COGS metrics preferred.
  • Food Safety Manager Certified preferred.
