Reporting directly to the Marketing Communications Manager, the Marketing Communications Associate is responsible for assisting the communications department in designing and fulfillment of all printed material as well as updating website information, creating and sending email communications, and general proofing, editing and organizational duties. The position requires initiative, considerable flexibility and a great deal of creativity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide excellent service to key stakeholders, customers, business partners, and employees.
  • Create and manage the weekly membership email, as well as maintenance of the member e-mail list within MailChimp.
  • Assists in creating various other special email communications with homeowners, board of directors and staff.
  • Create and print various letters, reports, menus, flyers, advertisements, brochures, business cards, charts and forms with accuracy and neatness.
  • Knowledge of A.P. journalistic style and the ability to work with other publications to create branded materials in the required format for both PC and Macintosh users.
  • Proficiency in various computer software packages including Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and MailChimp, WordPress and Basecamp.
  • Maintenance and continuous updating of WordPress website.
  • Team owner and organizational lead within task management software, Basecamp. Requires extreme attention to detail and a keen sense of urgency.
  • Team owner of ShopTD, Tahoe Donner’s online e-commerce portal including the testing, optimizing, reporting and management of all online sales products.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of interdepartmental procedures, systems, and association policies.
  • Baseline proficiency with video editing software and video hosting, sharing, and services platforms like YouTube and Vimeo, or willingness to learn.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years experience in an in-house marketing team or agency with a proven track record and examples to show.
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing concepts across CRM, website, apps, digital advertising and social media.
  • Experience in social media environments such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, etc.
  • Writing skills, including appropriate grammar, punctuation, syntax, etc. in AP and Tahoe Donner style guidelines.
  • Creative eye and ability to help/drive the creative process.
  • Ability to manage of external resources and vendors.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and proactive mentality.
  • Knowledge of creative and business software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, MailChimp, WordPress and Basecamp.
  • Solid understanding of a lifestyle brand and marketing strategy for a targeted audience.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, hit deadlines and manage time appropriately.
  • This position requires initiative and a creative sensibility.

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising, marketing, public relations graphic design, digital media, social media or related field and one-year relevant experience in photography, editing and/or organizational duties or an equivalent combination of formal training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform all of the duties of the position.
