The Marketing Assistant role is an exciting part-time position (24 hours per week) that helps support the day-to-day operations of the Tahoe Donner Marketing Communications Department. The Marketing Assistant provides basic graphic design support, signage production, professional photo shoot coordination and website content updates as needed. They also help provide support with event planning and production as needed. Additionally, this role provides assistance with administrative and clerical tasks such as creating and filing purchase requests and purchase orders, monitoring work orders and filing assets such as photography and marketing collateral.

  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Writing skills, including appropriate grammar, punctuation, syntax, etc.
  • Experience working in website content management systems, ideally WordPress.
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, hit deadlines, and manage time appropriately.
  • Experience working with Basecamp or other project management tools a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform general clerical duties in support of the marketing office.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients, managers and overall staff and association members, and employees allowing for open communication of ideas at all levels.
  • Organize professional video and photo shoots – including coordinating with photographers, managers, models, etc.
  • Association signage support through design, printing (including large format printing), trimming, laminating and distribution of signage.
  • Create graphics for email and website.
  • Coordinate print projects with vendors, including getting quotes and placing orders.
  • Assist with managing invoicing, including purchase requests and purchase orders.
  • Assist with setting up projects in Basecamp and assist with coordinating orders through the team’s work order system.
  • Assist with filing, organization and maintenance of association photo assets.
  • Operate various office equipment such as personal computers, copiers, printers, scanners, and cameras.
  • Utilize various computer software packages including Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Miscellaneous projects as necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Experience or study in the field(s) of advertising, marketing, public relations, graphic design or digital media. Experience with organizational duties are also desired. This position requires initiative and an artistic sensibility.


Requires possession of valid Class C Driver License with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by the association insurance carrier.


Ability to read, analyze, write, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
