Start Haus Ski & Bike in Truckee, CA is looking for a year-round, full-time bike mechanic!

The right candidate is a fully experienced mechanic able to work with all manner of bikes, especially mountain bikes. We build, repair, and otherwise service everything from Rad Power Bikes to $10,000 carbon MTB e-bikes.  We work as a team as well as independently, running through the schedule of service bikes for the day and helping with the quick walk-in repairs.  Your sales tasks will be limited, but it’s just as important to interface with customers determining what is needed and how to help.  We’re currently a dealer for Giant/Liv, Evil Bikes, and Nukeproof, as well as a preferred service provider for Rad Power. We expect you to hit the ground running while also learning our approach to bike service.

For the winter, you’ll be trained to either service and tune skis or fit and service ski boots.  Experience here is less important but necessary that you be willing to pick up new skills and continue to work with your hands in the wintersport industry.

Pay for all positions will depend on experience. However, Start Haus prides itself on paying a living wage. We like our employees happy and loyal, and we want you to be able to work and live where you play. Flexibility is a must. As a retail store we expect you to be able to work weekends and holidays.  $25-$29 DOE.
